THE SECOND BOOK OF NEFI Chapter 14

  1. And now behold, my beloved brothers, I suppose that you ponder somewhat in your hearts concerning that which you should do after you have entered in by the way. But behold, why do you ponder these things in your hearts? Do you not remember that I said unto you that after you had received the Ruach HaKodesh, you could speak with the tongue of angels? And now, how could you speak with the tongue of angels except it were by the Ruach HaKodesh? Angels speak by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh; wherefore, they speak the words of Mashiach. Wherefore, I said unto you, Feast upon the words of Mashiach; for behold, the words of Mashiach will tell you all things what you should do. Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if you cannot understand them, it will be because you ask not, neither do you knock. Wherefore, you are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark. For behold, again I say unto you that if you will enter in by the way and receive the Ruach HaKodesh, it will show unto you all things what you should do.200 Behold, this is the doctrine of Mashiach, and there will be no more doctrine given until after he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh. And when he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh, the things which he shall say unto you shall you observe to do.
  2. And now I, Nefi, cannot say more. The spirit stops my utterance and I am left to mourn because of the unbelief, and the wickedness, and the ignorance, and the stiffneckedness of men. For they will not search knowledge nor understand great knowledge when it is given unto them in plainness, even as plain as word can be.
  3. And now my beloved brothers, I perceive that you ponder still in your hearts, and it grieves me that I must speak concerning this thing. For if you would hearken unto the spirit which teaches a man to pray, you would know that you must pray; for the evil spirit teaches not a man to pray, but teaches him that he must not pray. But behold, I say unto you that you must pray always and not faint, that you must not perform anything unto yhwh except in the first place you shall pray unto the Father in the name of Mashiach that he will consecrate your performance unto you, that your performance may be for the welfare of your soul.201
